Form 8862 – Information to Claim EIC After Disallowance

Form 8862 is required to be filed with a taxpayer’s tax return if both of the following apply:

  • The taxpayer’s claim for the Earned Income Credit was reduced or disallowed for any reason other than a math or clerical error.
  • The taxpayer would now like to claim the Earned Income Credit and they meet all of the requirements.

To access Form 8862, from the Main Menu of Keystone Tax Solutions Pro select:

  • Miscellaneous Forms
  • Information to Claim EIC after Disallowance (8862)
  • Ask the taxpayer each of the questions on the Form 8862 Menu
