ProWeb – Setting Up Fees, Custom Fees, and Discounts in Configuration

Fee Setup within Configuration will allow you to set a Minimum Preparer Fee as well as charge a certain amount by Form or by Schedule. Custom Fees and Discounts are fees/discounts in addition to the Fee Setup. For example: an office may charge a minimum preparer fee of $100, a Custom Fee of $20 for complex returns, and a $50 Discount for Active Military.

To begin your Fee Setup, click Select next to Configuration:

  • Click Select next to Fee Setup
  • Set your Minimum Preparer Fee
  • You can either search forms using the search box or filter forms by Federal/State
  • +Set Range allows you to quickly assign fee amounts to Forms and/or Schedules that fall in consecutive order
  • +Increase/Decrease allows you to adjust the fee amount for all Forms and/or Schedules
  • As you change fees, they will automatically update. 
  • When you’re finished adjusting fees, click Return 

To create Custom Fees and Discounts from the Configuration menu:

  • Click Select next to Custom Fees and Discounts
  • Click +Add Custom Fee or +Add Custom Discount 
  • Set the amount for your fee or discount
  • Assign a name 
  • Charge By Default will automatically assign the fee/discount to every return
  • Allow to be Removed allows the preparer to remove the fee/discount on e-file page of a return
  • Can Edit Fee On Return allows the preparer the ability to adjust the fee/discount amount on the e-file page of a return
