The Returns/Extensions Not Accepted Reports menu contains four standard reports that can be generated to help you identify returns and extensions that have not been accepted. Returns that have rejected and returns that have not been transmitted can be included in the reports. The returns not accepted report is generated based on electronic filing data stored on the transmitting computer.
To access the Returns/Extensions Not Accepted Report, from the Main Menu of the program select: Reports > Returns/States/Extensions Not Accepted.
Print the Returns Not Accepted Report: The Returns Not Accepted Report can be run to identify returns that have been transmitted to the IRS but not accepted. You also have the option to include returns that have not yet been transmitted. To include returns that have not been transmitted, answer No when prompted to ‘Only Print Returns that have been Transmitted’. If a return was paper filed, it can be removed from the report by selecting Delete Client from Returns Not Accepted Report.

- SSN
- Last name
- Office EFIN
- Preparer Code
- E-File Type
- Reject Indicator
- Most Recent Transmission Date – The transmission date column will be blank for returns that have not yet been e-filed
Print the State Returns Not Accepted Report: The State Returns Not Accepted Report can be run to identify state returns that have been transmitted but not accepted. You also have the option to include state returns that have not yet been transmitted. To include state returns that have not been transmitted, answer No when prompted to ‘Only Print Returns that have been Transmitted’. If a state return was paper filed, it can be removed from the report by selecting Delete Client from State Not Accepted Report.
The State Returns Not Transmitted Report contains the following information:
- SSN
- Last name
- Office EFIN
- Preparer Code
- State Abbreviation
- State E-File Type
- State Reject Indicator – The state reject indicator column will be blank if the state return has not yet been e-filed
- Federal Reject Indicator – The federal reject indicator column will be blank if the federal return has not yet been e-filed
- Most Recent Transmission Date – The transmission date column will be blank for returns that have not yet been e-filed
Print the Federal Accepted No State Accepted Report: The Federal Accepted No State Accepted Report can be run to identify returns that have been accepted by the IRS but not yet accepted by the state. The report can be run for any date range you specify. You also have the option to include returns that have not yet been transmitted.
The Federal Accepted No State Accepted Report contains the following information:
- SSN
- Last name
- Office EFIN
- Preparer Code
- E-File Type
- Reject Indicator
- Most Recent Transmission Date – The transmission date column will be blank for returns that have not yet been e-filed
Print the Extensions Report – Print the Extensions Report opens an Extensions Reports Menu containing several standard reports that can be run to identify returns that are on extension.
