While personal exemptions have been reduced to $0 for tax year 2018, standard deduction amounts have nearly doubled for all filing statuses. The standard deduction amount will increase to $12,000 for single taxpayers and married taxpayers filing separately, $18,000 for taxpayers filing as head of household, and $24,000 for married couples filing jointly.
