Copy Configuration to Disk – The Configuration backup contains all of your firm information, preparer information, fees, and network settings. Two reasons why copying this information to a backup drive can be important and useful:
- If you have to re-load the program onto a new hard drive or new computer, you won’t have to re-enter all the configuration information.
- If you have more than one computer running Keystone Tax Solutions Pro, either stand-alone or as a Workstation, you can recall the configuration on to that computer, speeding up the installation process.
The best way to back up your configuration is onto a flash drive. When you select the option to copy the configuration, you will be prompted to enter the drive you want to copy the configuration to; this will be the drive letter of your flash drive.
Restore Configuration from Disk – Restore Configuration is useful during the initial program configuration on a workstation computer. After installing Keystone Tax Solutions Pro and double-clicking the program icon on the desktop to begin the initial configuration, you will be asked if you want to restore the configuration from a backup disk. Insert the flash drive into the computer and select Yes. Choose the drive letter where the configuration is stored and press the Enter key. All of the configuration information will be installed.
Register DLL Files – Only select this menu under the direction of a Keystone Tax Solutions Pro Support Technician. It may be useful in troubleshooting and resolving certain program errors.
Clear Configuration – This will delete the entire program configuration. Afterwards, you will have to either restore the configuration from a backup copy or manually re-enter all of the information. This will not delete tax returns.
