If the total of all interest and/or dividends received is less than $1500, do not file Schedule B with the tax return. Enter the total amount of interest and dividends received in the input screen. If no interest was received, press the < ENTER > key on your keyboard to access the dividend input screen.
From the Main Menu of the Tax Return (Form 1040) select:
- Income Menu
- Interest or Dividends (Less than $1500)
- Input the amount of Interest, Ordinary Dividends, or Capital Gain Distributions less than $1500
TIP: If you have multiple statements to report on the tax return, you may want to create supporting notes by selecting the F10 key on your keyboard. This will allow you to enter a description of the statement and the amounts received so that you can easily keep track of all the interest and dividend statements reported on the tax return.
