The Path Menu shows three important Windows directory paths related to Keystone Tax Solutions Pro.
Installation Path
The installation path is the Windows directory location for the software. This location was set when Keystone Tax Solutions Pro was installed and is useful information for our technical support staff, especially if it is an atypical directory location.
Prior Path
The prior path is the Windows directory location for last year’s installation path. It is important that this path is accurate so that information from prior year returns can be found and pulled into the current year’s return. This location was set when Keystone Tax Solutions Pro was installed on this computer, and the prior path must be on the same drive as the current year installation path. While this menu item may be selectable, it has been deprecated and should typically never need changing.
In an office with multiple computers running Keystone Tax Solutions Pro in a network configuration, the setting for the Prior Path is only important on the computer designated as the file server.
