The name and title of the officer or partner signing a business return must be present on the return in order to file it electronically. To input the name and title of the signing officer or partner, from the Main Menu of the Business Tax Return select:
- Heading Information
- Name & Address
- Name of Officer or Partner Signing Return
- Title or Title of Partner
New for 2018 – Designation of a Partnership Representative replaces the tax matters partner on Form 1065 – Partnerships must indicate a Partnership Representative on Schedule B, page 3. The Partnership Representative does not need to be a partner in the partnership.
To enter the designated Partnership Representative in Keystone Tax Solutions Pro, from the main menu of the return (Form 1065) select:
- Schedule B – Other Information
- Additional Other Information
- Partnership Representative Info
- Keystone Tax Solutions Pro will ask Is the Partnership Representative an individual? Answer Yes or No
- Enter all required information in the fields provided
